A true collector's item. This 48-page special-edition magazine commemorates the 75th anniversary of the 1949 Mann Gulch tragedy in Montana, in which 12 smokejumpers and a firefighter died when flames overtook them on a hot August afternoon. Members of the National Smokejumper Association traveled to various hometowns of the jumpers who died, hosting memorial services during which the men were honored with tributes along with special "Smokejumpers – Keepers of the Flame" medallions affixed to the grave markers.

The magazine features a biography on each of the men who died, plus features including "The Survivors: Dodge, Sallee and Rumsey," "That Day in Mann Gulch," "The Trip to Mann Gulch" and "A Hike to Mann Gulch with the Families." John Maclean, who authored "Young Men and Fire," a book about that horrific day, included the essay "In the Wake of the 75th Anniversary Memorial" for this special edition.

Also included are a wealth of photos, along with the text of keynote addresses and two poems about the tragedy.

This is an extremely limited supply of these magazines. There will not be another press run, so do not wait to get yours.
